Drudge: Liar of Last Resort (Daily Brew)

The Daily Brew:

"I won’t bother with Matt Drudge’s foray into John Kerry’s sex life, except to say that that by now it should be obvious that Drudge’s true function in the GOP media ecosystem is as the liar of last resort. "

Did Bush pay for the abortion, or did he skip out without paying?

BartCop's most recent rants

Whilst perusing Bartcop, I ran across this:

Bush 'paid for abortion'
Must be in a foreign paper - the US media protects Bush
http://dailytelegraph.news.com.au/story.jsp?sectionid=1258&storyid=916439
[Link no longer works. Scrubbed? Killed?]

Excerpt:
"President Bush faced an extraordiary claim last night that he once paid for a girl-friend to have an abortion.
The pro-life president arranged for the procedure in the early 1970s, according to porn publisher Larry Flynt.
The controversial publisher of Hustler magazine told the New York Daily News he will make the claims in a
book coming out this summer.

'This story has got to come out,' said 61-year-old Flynt. 'There's a lot of hypocrisy in the White House about
this whole abortion issue. I've talked to the woman's friends. 'I've tracked down the doctor who did the abortion,
I tracked down the Bush people who arranged for the abortion I got the story nailed.'"

Who's Electable Now?

Who's Electable Now?: "Who's Electable Now?
When the history of the 2004 presidential race comes to be written, will the Democratic primary in Wisconsin be seen as a watershed -- the moment when, even in victory, John Kerry started to lose, and John Edwards, in defeat, started his slow, steady rise to the nomination and the White House? "

You're so purty I could puke...

When George W. Bush first heard how well John Edwards had done in Wisconsin, he suddenly began dry-heaving uncontrollably, his neck action prompting one of the White House Press Corps to mention his resemblance to a chickenhawk.

There, I say there... carked the unnamed reporter in tones not unlike those of our dear Mr. Leghorn, whose caricature was no doubt intended.

CHARLOTTE--Israel's Top Tourism Official Praises Phat Robertson Pissing the Palestinians

Constipative Conservative

Phat Robertson, for whom the term "Sour Grapes of Wrath" was invented after his embarrassing failed presidential bid, has transferred his hatred of African-Americans to Palestinians, whom he egregiously considers "the other dark meat".

Israeli Tourism Minister Benny Elon honored the conservative Christian author and commentator at a religious convention breakfast in Charlotte. The National Religious Broadcasters' convention is bringing 6,000 Christian media to the city through Wednesday.

Robertson praised Israel's survival in the face of what he called a "fanatical religion" of its Muslim neighbors. He said Palestinian President Yasser Arafat was raised to finish the work of Hitler.

The president of the Charlotte chapter of the Islamic Political Party of America criticizes both men for inciting "antagonism toward Islam ... and the plight of the Palestinian people."

Swing voters fuel Edwards' Stellar Performance in Wisconsin

Give me a shot at Bush, and I will give you back the White House...

Kerry fends off strong Edwards' challenge in Wisconsin:

"Taking advantage of Wisconsin's open primary rules, one in 10 voters were Republicans and about 30 percent were independents. Those voters broke for Edwards.
'That's been happening in other primaries, too,'' Edwards told The Associated Press in an interview. 'Republicans who would consider voting Democratic and independents are the people we have to win over to win the general election.
That's why I'm the best candidate to take on George Bush.'' "

Bush's NASCAR Crash & Burn: As Above, So Below

The Rude Pundit:
"Spinning as Fast as They Can:
The fascinating thing about George Bush's visit to NASCAR's Daytona 500 was not the pathetic sight of the President trying to be tough by proxy one more time. Nope, it was the metaphor of the spin out and crash and Bush's proximity to it that was most telling. Because, see, we're all sitting here now, in this America of ours, and we're watching that spin and crash happen in the Bush Adminstration. And like the driver in the seat of the twisting piece of wreckage that used to be a stock car, his anus clenched, hoping he doesn't go up in flames, hoping he doesn't piss himself into shame, Bush is reeling from all of the spin and slam."

"Are our national media -- schoolyard silly during campaign 2000, by turns somnolent and sycophantic ever since -- starting to rouse themselves from their long torpor? It's still way too early to answer that question with a 'yes,' but if that's what the answer turns out to be, the first week of February may have marked a turning point. "

Bush/Bath redactions

Bush/Bath redactions

More on James R. Bath and his connections.
Including GW Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Salem Bin Laden, Arbusto, Harken, BCCI, James Baker, Carlyle Group, Enron, etc...

From Democrats.com:

White House Scrubs Bush's AWOL Link to James Bath - Why??
On 2-13-04, the White House changed one crucial AWOL document before releasing it to the media: they removed the name of Maj. James Bath from the order that grounded Bush. Bush and Bath were good friends, and it's possible they were grounded on the same order because they were busted for the same alcohol or drug crime. In 1976, when Bush Sr. became head of the CIA, Bath became a CIA liason. In 1978, when Bush graduated from B-school and started his first business named Arbusto ("shrub"), Bath invested as much as $1 million from funds he managed on behalf of Salem bin Laden and Khalid bin Mahfouz. Salem was Osama's big brother, and died in a mysterious plane crash in Texas in 1988. bin Mahfouz, a powerful Saudi banker, was one of the largest stockholders in the Bank of Credit and Commerce International. (Enter "James Bath" and "bin Mahfouz" in our search engine). Is the White House afraid we'll "connect the dots" between Bush, the Bin Laden family, and Saudi money dating back to 1978?

How to Avoid Wealth and Fame, Part 1

In our "How to Avoid Wealth and Fame" Series, we at Anonymoses hope to tackle one of the pressing issues of the day: "Why bother?"

Why bother, indeed! For your see, my friends, the striving for wealth and fame is just a positive spin on a more fundamental character flaw: Fear. Fear of Poverty. Fear of Obscurity.

As we examine this issue more thoroughly, better ways to spend your time and mind will emerge, and anxieties will fall away, as we shed the fear and the striving. But what is also shed are all the vicissitudes that go along with the multitude of things, the lack of time, the hurrying and scurrying, the 9 to 5, on and on...

Ancient Hatreds & Holy Places

"The holiest of all spots on Earth is where an ancient hatred has become a present love." - author unknown

I had been reading a wondrous book compiled by Marianne Williamson called "Imagine: What America Could Be in the 21st Century", when I stumbled upon the above quote while reading a chapter on Race Relations written by Kokomon Clottey and Aeeshah Ababio-Clottey, and I thought to myself, I said: "Self! This is one pregnant idea...given that some of the world's most troubling conflicts are among those whose hatred is of such ancience. May these ancient hatreds dissolve away like salt in warm water, never to crystallize again, but rather turn to tears and rain and then joy.

In the same chapter is this remarkable thought:

"Thich Nhat Hanh, the renowned Vietnamese Buddhist monk, said: "It is possible that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community -- a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing that we can do for the survival of the Earth."

Whose Garden was This?

Whose garden was this
It must have been lovely
Did it have flowers
Ive seen pictures of flowers
And I'd love to have smelled one

Whose river was this
You say it ran freely
Blue was its colour
And I've seen blue in some pictures
And I'd love to have been there

Tell me again, I need to know
The forest had trees, the meadows were green
The oceans were blue
And birds really flew
Can you swear it was true

Whose grey sky is this
Or was it a blue one
You say they were breezes
I've heard records of breezes
And I'd love to have felt one

Tell me again, I need to know
The forest had trees, the meadows were green
The oceans were blue
And birds really flew
Can you swear that its true

Whose garden was this
It must have been lovely
Did it have flowers
I've seen pictures of flowers
And I'd love to have smelled one
